The Top 5 Trending Songs in Jamaica Right Now

Dancehall songbird Jada Kingdom and emerging Dancehall artiste The 9ine claim this week’s top trending spot with their first collaboration, Turn Me On, while Dancehall’s young legend Masicka is still gripping audiences with his latest single, Tyrant.

Kicking off this week’s list of the top trending songs in Jamaica is Teejay, who claims the #5 spot with his viral social media hit Drift. Long before the song’s official music video release on YouTube in May, Drift grabbed the interest of audiences with its now-popularised dance move, which was created by Gabbi Don.

The single’s success came as a surprise to Teejay, who did not take the song seriously at first, but it has garnered over 2.7 million views and 75,000 likes since its premiere on YouTube.

Despite his recent detainment in Florida by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in May, Squash remains current in the local music scene, with his single Hurt Me currently trending at #4. Squash, head of the Dancehall crew the 6ixx, showcases a deeper emotional aspect of his persona in his newest song as he speaks on being taken for granted by the people in his life.

Hurt Me was produced by Jano Don Records and 6ix Real Records and has acquired over 504,000 views and 22,000 likes since its release on YouTube.

Taking the #3 spot on trending music is Trap Dancehall artiste RajahWild with his latest trending single, Wild OutWild Out, produced by Zimi Record and Now Or Never, has garnered over 461,000 views and 26 likes since its debut.

RajahWild’s previously released track, Searching For Goons, is currently positioned at #10 on the trending chart with over 373,000 views.

Masicka takes the #2 spot as the deejay continues to captivate audiences with his May release, Tyrant. This is the artiste’s second release via his new label, Def Jam Records, following his first, Pieces featuring Jahshii. The track has amassed 3 million views and 81,000 likes since its release.

Both artistes exchange steamy banter in the duet that fans have dubbed the collaboration they never knew they needed. Turn Me On premiered on June 3 and has so far amassed 2.4 million views and 82,000 likes.
