Former Prime Minister of Jamaican Most Honourable Edward Phillip George Seaga died one year ago in a Miami hospital. Edward Seaga passed away hours after celebrating his 89th birthday hence today marks one year since his death.
Today he would have turned ninety years old and as a result, Jamaica’s current prime minister Andrew Holness highlighted the “visionary and nation builder”.
PM Holness wrote, “Today, we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the birth of our beloved former Prime Minister, the Most Honourable Edward Seaga, O.N., P.C., visionary and nation builder.”
He was reportedly getting treatment in Miami for 2 chronic illnesses.
Earlier reports suggest that Mr. Seaga had cancer. The body of Seaga was returned to Jamaica and buried in Kingston on Sunday, June 23, 2019.
