Tommy Lee Sparta Transferred To Different Prison

Dancehall artiste Leroy Russel who is best known as Tommy Lee Sparta was transferred a day ago from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston to a different facility in located St. Catherine.

This transfer happened weeks after the Mobay deejay was involved in an alleged altercation with wardens which left him needing medical help at the Kingston Public Hospital.

So far, no statement nor comment about the transfer has been made by prison officials, Tommy Lee Sparta’s legal representative was also contacted about the matter by the Jamaica Gleaner, however, no details were revealed.

Fellow dancehall artiste Shawn Storm was also transferred in recent days to Tower Street Correctional Centre, he was there previously.

After being released from the hospital, Tommy Lee Sparta’s management team took to social media to inform his fans that he “is well and in good spirit”.

According to State Minister Zavia Mayne, the warders who were involved in the altercation with Tommy Lee would not be removed from duty.

Additionally, an investigation has been launched by The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) surrounding the alleged altercation, which left the incarcerated artiste hospitalized.

Leroy Russel is currently spending time behind bars for a three-year prison sentence that was handed down to him in March of 2021 after he pled guilty to being in possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.
