Tory Lanez Sued by Pregnant Woman for Alleged Hit-and-Run Accident
Canadian rapper Tory Lanez found himself in yet another legal dispute, with a woman now suing the artiste for an alleged hit-and-run that happened while she was four months pregnant.
Plaintiffs Krisha and Jesse Grullon filed a lawsuit alleging that Lanez collided with their vehicle and then fled the scene. According to reports from TMZ, the incident occurred in 2021 on New Year’s Day in Miami. The couple reportedly stopped at a red light after exiting a highway and shortly later were struck from the rear left side by Lanez, who was driving a green Bentley SUV.
The Grullon’s claim that after the accident, the rapper fled the scene without stopping to check if they were injured. They also deny that Lanez responded to their claims in 45 days and is requesting that he sit for a deposition.
Meanwhile, Lanez’s legal representative, Andell Brown, contends that the claims made by the Grullon’s are baseless. He noted that it is unusual that the alleged accident happened in January, with the claim being filed to his client’s insurance months later in July. Brown added that the insurance company conducted an investigation and concluded that it is unwarranted.
Furthermore, Brown theorized that the couple researched the artiste’s licence plate to pin him to the case and fabricate the events. The initial police report made by the Grullon’s also allegedly states that the car Lanez was driving was silver but, it was later changed to green in the lawsuit.
Recently, Lanez was accused of physical assault by fellow artiste August Alsina who said the rapper punched him backstage at a concert in Chicago after being ambushed by him and his security guards. He also has an ongoing legal case in California for the alleged shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
