A young Trinidadian-born Dancehall artiste was killed on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after previewing a diss track on live, which was later uploaded to YouTube, the song was directed at a suspected gang leader. The shooting incident took place in St. Ann, Port of Spain, Trinidad.
The 22-year-old deejay, born to the name Anthony Reyes, is professionally known as Wacko Dan and known for songs such as Badness, Some Boy, and Life Of A 6ixx. Wacko is affiliated with the 6ixx camp in Trinidad that’s being led by Jamaican dancehall artiste Squash. Wacko also has a tattoo of “6ixx” on his forehead and recently did a collaboration with Shaqstar.
Reportedly, the entertainer was shot in the face several times at around 8 AM on Tuesday by gunmen who found the singer at Symond Valley Road standing in from of a house that was there. 5.56mm and 9mm casings were recovered at the scene by law enforcement.
He was officially pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.
Initial investigations by police officials suggest that the murder may be gang-related and the diss track aired by the deejay a few days prior could give rise to a motive, as the song was directed at a gang leader in the area name “Prezzi”.
The viral video features Wacko Dan issuing threats and spewing profanity at the individual, which was also apparently confirmed by comments under the video. “Heady shot fi di big fat pxssy… fxck Prezzi and mi mean it mi push mi nozzle inna yo face and…,” sings the young dancehaller in the grimy track.
