Usain Bolt voted as The Greatest Male Athlete over past 75 Years

World Athletics weekly celebrated their Diamond anniversary in 2020, and what better way to do it than to have readers vote for their favourite Athletes from its 1945 inception, until now.

The polls saw a group of 100,000 voters, sent in their choices and Usain Bolt, amassed 55.3 per cent of the votes.

This is no surprise as the 8 times Olympic gold medallist has been a favourite of many for years, even the president of the World Athletics body stated that the sprinter has sparked people’s imagination and awareness of the sport like never before.

Usain Bolt who started his National representation for Jamaica at the age of 14, also has a total of 11 gold medals at the World Championship stage.

Former hurdler teammate of his, Colin Jackson has stated that it would be great to see Bolt do a World tour, offering whatever knowledge he can to people. Jackson also said Bolt is different because he is one of those Athletes that acknowledges his weaknesses to get better.
