Vybz Kartel Has This To Say About Dancehall Music
Share
In a recent post by Vybz Kartel made on his Instagram page the veteran Dancehall artist made some statements concerning dancehall music and the changes at play in the genre however the post was done in a very suggestive manner hinting at subject matters that it can be said the Deejay spoke about to put other artist in their place.
In the post Vybz Kartel stated that Dancehall music has changed throughout different generations as the sounds we hear now take on a different pattern. The artist went on to further explain his analogy by comparing musicians of past and present.
What made it seem as if the post was directed at someone was due to the fact that “Kartel mentioned that some artist might have felt that they had done something special for dancehall when really he only knows of Shabba, Sean Paul and Shaggy copping a unique award such as platinum.
In addition to his arguments, he also stated that Dancehall will be forever as the artform is coming from one single drum pattern from the “Punani” riddim by Steelie and Clevie and so even after we are gone it will remain.
