Vybz Kartel Tops the iTunes Reggae Chart… Here’s Why

Vybz Kartel’s success has gone up another notch as his most recent album “Of Dons and Divas” has topped the iTunes Reggae Chart.

The album that was released, on the 26th of June, is an extra special project for Dancehall music as it features a lot of upcoming artistes, something that was never before seen in the Jamaican music scene.

In number one position, “Of Dons and Divas” sits above the great Bob Marley’s “Legend” album at second place and Skip Marley’s “Higher place” which is up next at 3rd place.

Even though Vybz Kartel is currently incarcerated, he is thriving very much in the music space and has been looking forward to getting the coveted Grammy award with the project.

Mr. Palmer is considered to be one of the greatest talents to emerge out of the island, but without a Grammy to his name, it is felt that there is one missing part to his self proclaimed Kingship.

A number of persons are not convinced that Kartel is able to produce what the judges on the Grammy selection panel are looking for however Mr. Vegas a fellow artiste spoke on the topic two years ago, and said he believes the Worl’boss is deserving of the award, as the hard work he has put in over the years is outstanding.

Artistes on the guestlist for the project include Spice, Lisa Mercedez, Sikka Rymes, Lisa Hyper, Squash, Teejay, Daddy1, and others.

It is observed that the Album jumped to number one shortly after news broke about Vybz Kartel and Co-accused men were granted conditional leave to approach the Privy Council in the UK in the hope to overturn their current murder convictions.
