A prominent entertainer was transferred to the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre (dubbed GP) this afternoon, and the Department of Correctional Services is keeping the details of the transfer under wraps.
According to reports relayed to the Jamaica Gleaner, the entertainer in question is Vybz Kartel, and he was professedly brought to GP earlier today during heavy showers. The deejay was originally held at GP before he was moved to the Horizon Adult Remand Centre
The relocation transpired shortly after Sidem Öztürk, Kartel’s Turkish fiancée, sat down for an interview that was released on Tuesday, September 27, with Lisa Evers of Fox 5 New York. The interview was posted on the YouTube channel for the international news station and currently has 294,985 views.
According to unnamed sources, the artiste has been stationed on a block entitled jail, which houses high-risk prisoners, as the block is outfitted with security cameras with coverage of all cells.
In Prison since 2014, the Clarks deejay has already served eleven years for the murder of Clive Williams, more popularly known as ‘Lizard’. Kartel was sentenced to life in prison and will not become eligible for parole until after he has served 35 years. However, after appealing to the privy council on the basis of evidence tampering, the Worl’Boss and his legal team are looking forward to favourable results in court for an early release by the end of the year.
