In a New Year’s message to fans on his Instagram page, Yaksta described his album as a therapeutic body of work for the mind and soul. The Assets deejay went on to express his certainty that none of his fans would be disappointed as each track on the album was created with intricacy. In an interview with the Jamaica Gleaner, the artiste further shared the hard work he put into Yaksta 22, revealing that during the making of the album, he composed 444 songs.
Yaksta executively produced the album alongside Anju Blaxx and several other producers. Former sprinter Usain Bolt is also credited on the project. With a massive body of work excluded from the album and enough unreleased songs for an EP and an album, Yaksta has suggested that there may be a second album released later in the year.
The entertainer shared the album’s cover on Wednesday and will host a launch party and free concert for the project on February 21.
