What she loves most about Jamaica are the people and the culture; the food, parties and all the festivities. Latrar Scot says “The lyrics I portray in my music are an embodiment of my life experiences and also the lifestyle of the Jamaican people”.
Over the last 5-10 years, the world has witnessed a dancehall explosion, a lot have changed however Latrar is fully conscious of this because she watched carefully, collecting her lyrical ammunition along the way. After honing her vocal skills in the studio Latrar Scott decides that the timing is right to treat her fans to what they have been long anticipating.
The St. Andrew born recording artiste also draws inspiration from international superstar Rihanna, as she aims to have a similar level of achievement in the music industry as her fellow Caribbean queen. Latrar Scott’s favourite quote is “Independence is Happiness” by Susan B. Anthony, the American women’s rights activist as she also aspires to empower women around the world. For fun Latrar enjoys watching Nollywood movies, hanging out with close friends and families or reading inspirational novels.
