YG Marley Shoots Music Video for ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’ in Jamaica

2024 breakout Reggae artiste, YG Marley has finally shot the music video for his hit song ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’ which has racked up over 44 million views since being released on December 25, 2023.
Behind-the-scenes footage was shared online of the music video shoot over the weekend by popular American director Cole Bennett who tagged Kingston as the location from which he took the scenes.
Aside from shooting the music video, Cole Bennett was also excited for taking his mother to Jamaica. “I went to Jamaica and brought my mom with me,” he wrote as the caption to the uploads on Instagram.
‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’ has been the biggest song in Jamaica and Reggae music for a few months now and Jamaicans/Reggae music lovers have been anticipating a music video for the the song.
As the grandson of the iconic Reggae legend Bob Marley, YG Marley whose birth name is Joshua Omaru Marley emerges as a compelling force in the modern music scene, blending his rich familial heritage with contemporary sounds to captivate audiences worldwide.
YG Marley is the son of Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley, hence a 3rd generation Marley like Skip Marley.
Currently, ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’ sits at number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it earlier peaked at 34 on the chart. ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’ made its debut at #74 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart a couple of months ago.
The scene from the music video shows the young Marley standing in a space with many of his associates, notably, Rastafarians around him, singing along to the words of the song as a large camera captures the proceedings. Check out more from the music video shoot below:
