Sumfest 2024: Nigy Boy, Dexta Daps, Jada Kingdom, Valiant, YG Marley etc Expected to Wow Crowd

It’s almost that time of the year again when music enthusiasts are excited for one of the biggest music festivals in Jamaica, Reggae Sumfest. The grand event, which was first staged in 1993, returns with a slew of Dancehall and Reggae entertainers, along with American R&B artiste Babyface.

Among the local star lineup that will be taking the stage this summer, particularly on July 19th and July 20th, at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay, includes prominent artistes Nigy Boy, Dexta Daps, Jada Kingdom, Valiant, and YG Marley. The entertainers are all expected to give show-stopping performances.

Continuing its tradition of featuring both seasoned local artistes and the latest industry sensations, Reggae Sumfest proudly welcomes Nigy Boy to make his debut on Festival Night 2 at the 2024 staging.

Dancehall artiste Nigy Boy, born Nigel Hector, is one of the hottest rising Dancehall artiste of 2024. The visually impaired deejay, who hails from Montego Bay, St. James, gained local and international recognition with his single Continent in January of this year.

Nigy, who is definitely one of the ladies’ favourites, remained in the spotlight with other infectious songs such as Judgement and Nomad. Continent currently boasts over 12 million views on YouTube while Judgement, released in March, has over 6.9 million views and Nomad, released in April, has over 939K views. 

Another artiste who will be debuting at the event is YG Marley, whose legal name is Joshua Marley. YG Marley, the grandson of Bob Marley, is best known for his debut single Praise Jah in the Moonlight, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at No. 34.

Through the success of the song, he performed on Jimmy Fellon’s The Tonight Show and made his debut performance at Coachella 2024. Now, fans are waiting to see the Reggae entertainer belt out the soulful song at Reggae Sumfest on Festival Night 1.

Dexta Daps will no doubt be crooning to the ladies with intimate love songs from his extensive catalogue. Dexta, legally named, Louis Grandison, has been in the music industry since 2012, and his fanbase mostly consists of women.

Jada Kingdom, born Jada Ashanti Murphy, always puts on a hypnotic show during her life performances. Muma Heavy flaunts her assets in provocative outfits and performs risque dance moves to her popular songs that frequently go viral on social media. 

Dancehall artiste Valiant, whose real name is Raheem Bowes, has a number of popular songs that fans are looking forward to hearing at Reggae Sumfest. Without a doubt, one of those tracks is his most recent hit song Lumbah, which has over 9 million views on YouTube since its release in February.

Other highly anticipated performers include Malie Donn, 450, Kraff, Teejay, Pablo YG, Aidonia, Munga Honorable, Marcy Chin, Kaka Highflames, Reggae Veterans Capleton and Turbulence on Night 1.

As well as Beres Hammond, Babyface, Luciano, Sevana, Anthony B, Nigy Boy, D’Yani, Norris Man, Christopher Ellis, Ras-I, Sevana, Peter Metro, Daddy Lizard, Wickerman, and Anthony Malvo on Night 2.
