3 Covid-19 Deaths recorded in Jamaica over the past 24 Hours!

The Jamaican Government has placed, tighter restrictions on the curfew time for places heavily affected by Covid-19, however that has certainly not stopped the death count from the virus to rise.

In the past 24 hours, there has been a recorded amount of 3 deaths relating to the wildly spreading pandemic.

The deceased are coming from the parishes of; St. Catherine, Kingston and St. Andrew. These places have been placed under vigilant watch by the health ministry, due to the exponential spike in the confirmed cases in the areas.

Unfortunately confirmed as fatal victims of the virus are; 3 elderly persons, a 70-year-old male, an 89-year-old female from Kingston & St. Andrew while the other deceased is a 76-year-old woman from St. Catherine.

The amount of Covid-19 deaths recorded in Jamaica has now gone up to 19, while 1732 total cases have been confirmed in the country, with up to 120 persons being added to the list in the last 24 hours.

New Coronavirus

Out of the total number of confirmed cases, 840 persons recovered, while there are still 801 patients; being treated for the viral infection.

On a larger scale 29,560 people are under quarantine, with many of them coming in from abroad and being observed for Covid-19 symptom developments.

441 cases have so far been recorded as being imported instances, while the contact cases are standing at 497 infected persons.

With these huge numbers of spikes in the Covid-19 count for Jamaica, it certainly seems the government will need to implement further emergency strategies to control the rapid spread of the virus.

Persons are being urged to wear masks, keep sanitized, and maintain a social distance of 6ft from each other to prevent contamination.

The emergency precautions were not completely followed, on Jamaica’s nomination day as a large number of cases were reported due to the happening.

It leaves one to only wonder what will take place on election day.
