5th-Grade Student’s Lifeless Body Found in Pond in Trelawny

Residents of Holland Estate in Trelawny were shattered by tragedy on Thursday after the lifeless body of 10-year-old, Alcayde Palmer of Zion in Martha Brae was discovered in a nearby pond. Palmer was a fifth grader at Granville Primary School in the parish.
According to reports, Palmer was reported missing at 8 a.m. Thursday, prompting a swift response from the authorities. A search team was dispatched to comb the area for any sign of the missing child.
The search ended in heartbreak a few hours later when Palmer’s lifeless body was found in the pond at around 10 a.m. Palmer’s father, Basil Palmer, expressed profound shock and disbelief at the tragic turn of events.
As reported in the Jamaica Star, he described his son as “a quiet boy who gives no trouble” and recounted how he had recently signed a permission slip for him to participate in festival activities.
He continues, “Just the night before, I signed a permission slip for him to participate in some festival activities. I don’t know what to say. I am just shocked.”
The incident is currently being investigated.
