Intence, Teejay, Skillibeng, Jahvillani, Masicka, Ishawna cut dubs for JLP and Andrew Holness
As the debate rages on about Dancehall artistes making dubplates for both PNP and JLP, the prime minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness aka Bro Gad comes forward with dubs from top male dancehall artistes.
The 2020 general election in Jamaica is being hyped by dancehall dubs like never before and in some people eyes, it’s turning out into one big sound clash. Due to the restrictions by COVID-19 the election candidates are finding alternative methods to get their names out and instead of meeting and greeting in the communities, dubs are the preferred means of connection with voters this time around.
While Lisa Hanna’s dubs from Shenseea and Spice went viral first, PM Holness has since taken over the top spot of who has the biggest dancehall dubs going into the election September 3.
“Like every other day them find sittin new fi try.. Holness nuh regular. Andrew mek dem move and gweh” Sings Intence in his Dub.
“Andrew a rock brand new clarks pon foot… roll the ballot showa yuh fi vote and try nuh fi got” Sings Jahvillani in his dubplate.
“Hey JLP we stay inna wi owna lane.. Bigup brogad” Sings Teejay.
Intence, Teejay, Jahvillani, Skillibeng, Masicka, Ishawna, Shenseea, Spice, Stylo G, Daddy1, Christopher Martin, Jahvillani, Teejay, Dovey Magnum, etc have done dubs for party candidates and according to Dovey “PNP affi win dis yah time”.
