According to reggae-dancehall star Mr. Vegas, the artistes who are bashing the ones who are making dubplates for politicians are hypocrites as most of them have performed at political events in the Caribbean if they don’t do it in Jamaica.
Mr. Vegas explains that the artistes who are talking out are the ones who don’t have hot songs “We in pandemic and we don’t know when we ago see a stage show again” according to Vegas the artistes should do all they can to “eat a food”.
“If politions want a 100 dub plates… sing until yo hoarse… take care of unuh responsibilites” states Vegas.
“Sing yo song… Sing fi who yuh wah fi sing fah…” he continued and suggested that fans should check the artistes who are lashing out file “dem fly out guh perform fi political party overseas” States the outspoken dancehaller who hints that he is more than willing to collect some of the dub money from the politicians.
Shenseea, Spice, Stylo G, Daddy1, Christopher Martin, Jahvillani, Teejay, Dovey Magnum, etc have done dubs for party candidates and according to Dovey “PNP affi win dis yah time”.
Vegas who also calls himself Suubi wrote “Suubi’s Real Talk Message to all artistes weh a do dubplate for politicians!”.
Vybz Kartel, Bounty Killer and Tanya Stephens are the known front runners who are lashing out against the artistes who are in support of the politicians. According to Kartel, the artistes are making dubs to get a hype.
