Calls For This St. Ann MP to Resign “Waste a vote… Marsha a stop Prosperity”
The people of North East St. Ann hosted a protest on Friday demanding the resignation of their Member of Parliament (MP) Marsha Smith.
MP Smith is being accused of being a poor political leader; one who does not know her people and has not done anything for the constituency since over a year of being elected.
In the video, a number of persons are cladded in green with a picture of their previous, deceased MP – Shahine Robinson on their shirt. However, the shirt depicting MP Smith’s face was placed on the ground and used to wipe their feet.
Some of the signs that persons held at the protest had the words “Biggest Political Mistake”, “Waste a vote” and “Marsha a stop Prosperity”.
The protesters have called on Prime Minister Andrew Holness to urgently intervene and allow them to choose another MP for the area. They expressed that failure for Prime Minister Holness to take action may result in the constituency being taken by the People’s National Party (PNP).
Reports reveal that efforts were taken to reach MP Marsha Smith for a response but have been unsuccessful.
