$15-Million Drug Bust In Portland; Woman Arrested

Police officers from the Portland Division made a massive drug bust in the parish on Saturday, April 30 when a search was conducted for illegal drugs and firearms.
Reports are that during the afternoon hours in the Norwich District, a property was searched and two parcels of the illegal substance were found. The cocaine seized weighed two kilograms and is estimated to have a street value of $15 million.
A woman who is suspected to be in connection with the illegal drugs was apprehended as investigations continue.
Kenneth Chin, Superintendent of the Portland Division said in a statement that, “the Portland police in collaboration with Area 2 Narcotics are committed to doing our part in dismantling this leg of the Guns for Drugs Trade which is operating in the parish of Portland”.
