Popcaan Bashes Sumfest For Using His Image To Promote Their Event
International Dancehall artiste Popcaan reacts to Reggae Sumfest alluding to him being present at the upcoming event on July 18-23, 2022 in Montego Bay Jamaica.
Some hours ago on the official Instagram page for Reggae Sumfest, a blocked-out silhouette on a poster was uploaded with the words “GUESS WHO?” The caption accompanying the picture stated, “Drop who you think it is in the comment section and mek wi know!”
The picture was an old one taken at a time when Popcaan still had his hair cut low but he was still recognizable to fans at a glance. According to fans, Popcaan had all right to his reaction following the upload because using an artiste’s picture to promote an event that he/she did not get booked for is wrong.
Popcaan responded to the post by commenting “unu stop Bom**claat ramp wid me cauee man nah perform a no sumfest!!!! @unrulyfest me know 😐.”
In response to Popcaan’s call out, a fan replied, “@popcaanmusic you need to make a public statement that your not performing 😂😂😂@badevryday too,” and another commented, “@popcaanmusic same thing them do @badevryday,” referring to Skillibeng.
Sumfest has made multiple uploads using this same method.
