After dating for a number of years, the couple exchanged vows in 2019 at Old Fort Bay in St. Ann on Saturday, November 2. The pair share a passion for track and field, as Derron, a former St. Jago High School hurdler, worked as a coach at the Racers Track Club set-up, the Cameron Blazers Track Club, Mico University, and his alma mater.

In her birthday message to her husband, Elaine highlighted his many exceptional qualities and expressed her gratitude to have him in her life.

“You really are too good to be true. My life wouldn’t be the same without you. So here’s to you! To your brilliance, your kindness, your strength, and your everlasting charm, love you so much. Happiest of birthdays, love,” Elaine wrote, captioning multiple photographs of her and Derron.

The couple shares a professional relationship as well as a romantic one, with Derron taking over as Elain’s coach following her split from the Stephen Francis-coached MVP Track Club in 2021. The Herahs went on to form the New Era Track Club, which was specifically created to cater to Elain’s training needs.

Elain described the first season of training with her husband as an adjustment because her attitude was “firey,” but said they created a balance between their personal and professional lives. The double Olympic gold medalist credited her improved performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games to the presence of her husband and coach. The couple also co-owns an e-sports bar and jerk lounge in Kingston entitled the Coded Frolic.
