Head coach Hemeir Hallgrimson, in an interview with local media reporters, made some interesting points about his new team in their debut match together. He explained that he also learned a lot about the T&T team, and one of those things was that when they are pressed, they resort to playing long balls. In addition, he indicated that if his team had noticed this during the first half of the match and adapted to reacting to and defending these advancements as soon as possible, the outcome would have been different.

He made note that his original game plan was to see all the players on the team in action and that the players who did not get a chance to play in this match would get that opportunity on Tuesday. The Reggae Boyz will however get a chance to redeem themselves on Tuesday as they will be playing against each other once more.

The coach indicated that the entire purpose of matches like these is to determine the positions and specific roles of the respective players on the field, and he wished to ensure that young players are given a chance to make a name for themselves through these matchups.
