Shericka Jackson to Face Off With Sha’Carri and Asher-Smith at Doha Wanda Diamond League Today
Following her world-leading 100m race at the MVP Velocity Fest 13, Jamaican Olympian Shericka Jackson is set to face off with Sha’Carri Richardson and Dina Asher-Smith in the 100m at the Wanda Diamond League Seashore Group Doha Meeting on Friday, May 5.

Jackson is the reigning world and Wanda Diamond League 200m champion and secured her first 100m win for the 2023 athletic season with a time of 10.82 seconds at the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event MVP Velocity Fest 13 on April 22.

As she begins her Wanda Diamond League campaign over the 100m Jackson will face American sprinters Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, and Abby Steiner, as well as New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs and Britain’s Asher-Smith.
Richardson, Jefferson, Terry, Steiner, and Hobbs currently have personal bests of 10.72 seconds, 10.82 seconds, 10.82 seconds, 10.90 seconds, and 10.97 seconds over the distance, respectively. Asher-Smith, the 100m record holder for Britain, currently has a personal best of 10.83 seconds, which she set in Doha 2019.
In their past five 100m confrontations, Asher-Smith has secured two wins and Jackson four.
The Doha meeting record set by America’s Torie Bowie in 2016 remains at 10.80 seconds. The women’s 100m Doha race commences at 12:12 p.m. Friday, 5th of May.
