Sha’Carri Wins, Shericka Jackson 2nd in 100m at Doha Diamond League – Watch Race
The fastest woman over the 100-metre distance in 2023 is now Sha’Carri Richardson after winning the 100m at the Doha Diamond League 2023 in a meet record time of 10.76. Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson was in second place with an impressive time of 10.85.
Several of women’s biggest names at the moment in sprinting were involved in the much-anticipated race, notable names were, Jackson, Richardson, Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha Terry, Abby Steiner, Hobbs and Asher-Smith.
Jackson and Richardson ran beside each other in lanes 5 and 6, respectively.
Last month, in Kingston, Jackson ran 10.82 seconds at the World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event MVP Velocity Fest 13, that time was the fastest time clocked this year. Jackson is the reigning world and Wanda Diamond League 200m champion.
On the other hand, this was Richardson’s best run in two years.
