Demarco Demands $6 Million to Clash Fully Bad at Sting

After the colossal hit Sting suffered in 2022, founder Isaiah Laing is hoping to make a grand resurgence with this year’s staging. While Laing secured some of dancehall’s powerhouses to rock the show at Jamworld in Portmore, St. Catherine, he is still missing one contender for the 2023 Sting clash.

For this year’s lyrical clash, Laing hopes to get dancehall deejays Fully Bad and Demarco on the stage. However, in an interview, Laing shared that while Fully Bad was already on board, Demarco was unreachable.

On Wednesday, the Love My Life artiste made it clear that he will only battle Fully Bad if Laing is willing to pay him $6 million. The announcement was made on Instagram, notifying the former police detective that $6 million was a small portion of money in the United States, so Demarco would not settle for less.

“LAING IF YUH NAH SEH 6 NO CLASH DONT WAH DUH (Daddy One Voice),” he posted. Demarco subsequently hinted that he could “make Jamaica great again” with a show-stopping clash if the event’s organisers agreed to his price.

“😂😂😂THINK A JOKE!!! COME ON @reggaesting LETS MAKE JAMAICA GREAT AGAIN!!! $6mill JMD IS ONLY A SMALL $38000 USD (TRUMP VOICE) NO 🧢,” he said.

The post attracted mixed reactions as some folks voiced their disapproval. One person even accused Demarco of killing the culture. This comes amid the criticism that some deejays have been facing from members of the entertainment industry for requesting the same high prices they charge for events abroad.

However, not everyone in the dancehall fraternity shares this sentiment, such as Producer Ajal. Ajal reacted to Demarco’s post by encouraging him to raise the price.
