Popcaan Calls Out NWA Manager Stephan Shaw Amid Drain Cleaning Project – Watch Videos
Amid his drain cleaning project, Popcaan has called out the National Works Agency’s Communications (NWA) Manager, Stephen Shaw, for pointing out potential negatives that can result from the project.
Popcaan recently kicked off his drain cleaning initiative in his native parish of St. Thomas, recruiting several volunteers and supplying heavy machinery to aid in the cleaning project. Though the artiste has received praise from members of the government, such as Morant Bay Mayor Hubert Williams, Shaw highlighted possible negative outcomes in a recent interview.
Speaking to TVJ News, Shaw shared that the NWA does not encourage residents to conduct work on drains and waterways. Shaw cited the complexities involved due to the technical nature of how drains are constructed.
During his interview, the manager explained that due to the structure of some of the drains, a well-intended resident could inadvertently go below their base, resulting in varied consequences.
Following Shaw’s statements, Popcaan shared a video on his Instagram page on Thursday of what appeared to be his latest cleanup.
In the video, a large excavator could be seen clearing a waterway that leads to the sea. While showcasing the work being done, Popcaan seemingly called out Shaw to help him complete the project.
Taking on his usual no-nonsense tone, Popcaan advised Shaw to take note of what was being done, learn, and stop talking. In addition to telling Shaw to come and help them, Popcaan also criticised the manager for not providing machinery like the excavator to clean the community.
