Male and Female Police Officers Killed in Clarendon Accident

Developing reports detail that, on Sunday evening, two police officers, a male and a female lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident that left two other officers hospitalized in Clarendon
The incident took place between 6 PM and 7 PM along the York Town main road after the driver lost control of the vehicle and subsequently plunged into a ditch.
The police service vehicle can be seen overturned in a ditch in photos now making rounds online.
All four occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital where two of them were pronounced dead. Constables Jessica West and Shawn Atkins, both of the Area 3 police division passed away.
The Jamaica Cosnatbuakry force acknowledged the fatal crash online via a post with a lengthy caption that reads, “The Police High Command is saddened by the death of two Police Constables— a man and a woman— who died as a result of injuries they sustained in a motor vehicle accident on the York Town main road, May Pen, Claredon on Sunday, September 15.”
“At about 6:30 p.m., the officers were in a service vehicle travelling along the roadway, on reaching a section of the roadway, the driver allegedly lost control of the unit that went over a ditch. They were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.”
It concluded, “The Jamaica Constabulary Force is expressing condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the Constables, who were assigned to the Area 3 Headquarters in Clarendon. The Force’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to the family members, friends and colleagues of the Constables. More details to follow.”
