The incident took place early Monday morning, around 2 AM. Currently, Akron police are searching for the suspect responsible for the shooting in what was a crowded bar, which left three people injured.

According to authorities, off-duty uniformed officers working security at the venue heard gunshots and immediately called for backup.

In the circulating video, the rapper can be seen on stage, dressed in a red top and black pants, seemingly having a fun moment with the fans with a big smile on his face. The person recording the video was also having a fun time, jumping and shouting with joy when shots started firing. Two shots can be heard in the video.

When officers entered the bar, they discovered two victims—a 36-year-old man and an 18-year-old male—both suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported them to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

A third victim, a 25-year-old man, later arrived at an emergency room with a graze wound. None of the victims’ names have been released.

Police say the shooting was preceded by a fight at the venue. Promotional materials on social media indicated that rapper Torence “Boosie” Ivy Hatch Jr. was the headlining performer.

This is not the first violent incident linked to a Boosie concert. In August 2024, two people were fatally shot before an outdoor event featuring the rapper.
