A$AP Rocky Gets Arrested For Shooting
American rapper A$AP Rocky was arrested today, April 20 at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a shooting that took place earlier in November 2021.
Reports are that the rapper arrived at the airport from his baecation in Barbados with his baby mother, Rihanna in a private jet when officers of the LAPD arrested him. This has since been confirmed by his attorney, Alan Jackson to NBC News.
According to a statement released by the LAPD, they disclosed that “On November 6, 2021, around 10:15 p.m., an argument between two acquaintances occurred in the area of Selma Avenue and Argyle Avenue, in the Hollywood Area. The argument escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim. The victim sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought medical treatment. Following the shooting, the suspect and two additional males fled the area on foot”.
A$AP Rocky’s case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
The rapper has had similar run-ins with the law, wherein in 2019 he was arrested and charged with assault and was given a suspended prison sentence, as well as to pay a sum of $1, 270 in damages.
Additionally, at the age of 16, he was charged with attempted murder when he shot a man who he said was trying to “come at him” in front of the ladies. His charges for this incident were reduced and he served minimal time in jail.
