Footage circulating online since late Tuesday shows an armed gang roaming a complex in Aurora, Colorado, heightening concerns about the city’s escalating crime problem.
The video captures a man wielding a high-powered rifle, accompanied by at least three others carrying handguns as they walk around, checking doors at the Nome Street apartment complex.
Aurora officials have been investigating the Tren de Aragua gang, a notorious Venezuelan criminal group involved in human smuggling, violence, money laundering, and drug trafficking across the U.S. Local authorities have linked the gang to the Nome Street complex, where criminal activity has surged.
The complex has also been plagued by deteriorating conditions, with a huge pile of rubbish accumulating and a violent shooting over the weekend.
Residents claim that the situation worsened after a large influx of migrants moved in six to seven months ago, with management failing to address the mounting problems.
