Bounty Killer Bashes Sumfest Organisers: ‘A we build that BBC’
Coinciding with his fellow Alliance associate Busy Signal, Bounty Killer unleashed some not so favourable words at the organisers of the most popular festival in Jamaica, seemingly in an effort to get them to ‘respect’ local artistes.
In particular, Bounty Killer’s disrespect was aimed at Skatta Burrell and less so towards Josef Bogdanovich. Notably, Bounty Killer was initially announced to be honoured at this year’s staging of the festival but that did not materialize.
Back in May, the 52-year-old deejay announced, “Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control there won’t be no Bounty Killer tribute this year at Sumfest and I won’t be appearing either salute to all the fan’s alliance and allegiances Thank You,” he wrote on Instagram.”
Fast forward to the end of July, Bounty Killer whose real name is Rodney Basil Price has followed up with more words regarding Sumfest, following multiple reports of local artistes such as Beres Hammond being ‘disrespected’ at the festival in favour of Babyface.
Skatta Burrell has dismissed those reports and detailed why the media was banned from recording Babyface’s performance. Notably, Valiant and Jada Kingdom did not perform at the last staging of Reggae Sumfest despite being booked and attending the show.
Valiant has since talked on the matter, saying that he was being treated poorly while at the event and he knows his worth. On July 29, in an effort to show the creativity of local performers, Bounty Killer shared a video of his 1993 performance on the show.
As a caption for the video, he wrote, “Very young and militant killer a mi first bring out bad gyal on stage a whine to bad man songs bullet bullet pull it💫🎉🔥.”
He continued, taking aim at Skatta without calling his name, “Some likkle fuck mouth country dread bwoy fi know say a we build that bumboclaath poosie yuh still inna St Mary bush dem time deh Joe know mi fucking worth doh play wid mi😂😅🤣.”
