On Thursday, Bounty Killer followed up on his promise to donate towards helping Jamaican veteran artiste Lt. Stitchie who suffered a severe brain haemorrhage, that initially left him unresponsive.

Lt. Stitchie whose real name is Cleveland Laing is currently in a care facility in the USA, requiring extensive rehabilitation care. According to his wife, the witty entertainer is showing signs of improvement, now reacting to voices he knows, opening his eyes etc..

Footage surfaced Thursday via Prism Marketing, showing Bounty and Richie Stephens handing over a US $10,000 cheque to Stitichie’s wife Sophia Laing. While accepting the donation, Mrs. Laing talked about the popular entertainer’s current health situation and also hit back at the death rumours circulating online.

“Stitichie is recovering… just to let it be known out there to the public because i know a lot of ugly rumours are out there and i want to dispel every one of them right now… Lt. Stitchie, is alive and well and he’s recovering greatly, he is hearing, his eyes are open, he responds to vices that he knows and he’s on the road to recovery.”

“I thank you on behalf of my family… We know this is going to go a mighty long way,” she said. After making that statement, she was reassured by Bounty Killer and Richie Stephens that there will be more donations because other potential donors are interested in sending funds to help the situation.

The donations to the gospel Dancehall/Reggae singer were made possible by multiple persons, Bounty Killer(Bounty Foundation), Shaggy, Paul “Bankey” Giscombe and seemingly Richie Stephens were key players in the endeavour.

As a caption for one of the multiple posts about the donation, Bounty Killer wrote, “In a heartfelt act of generosity, The Bounty Foundation and Shaggy made a significant donation of USD 10,000 to Cleve Laing, better known as Lieutenant Stitchie, with his wife, Mrs. Laing, collecting the cheque on his behalf. The presentation took place on October 3, 2024, at PAJ Imports Limited, located on Constant Spring Road in Kingston.”

While handing over the donation, Bounty Killer talked about how Lieutenant Stitchie inspired him to become an artiste while growing up.

At the start of September, it was revealed that Lt. Stitchie was in a coma. A GoFundMe was started for Lt. Stitchie’s health care by his wife. The GoFundMe has reached a total of $18,410 with just over 400 donors. The target for the GofundMe is $100,000 US.
