‘Bunny’ Shaw Scores 2, Reggae Girlz Beat South Africa 3-0

Jamaica’s Women’s National team played against South Africa for the second time in history Friday night with Jamaicans coming out 3-0 victor. The Caribbean girls dominated the match from start to end with Khadija “Bunny” Shaw scoring her 57th goal for Jamaica.
Jamaica opened the scoring in the 28th minute via a well-taken corner kick that was taken and scored by Siobhan Wilson, The Reggae Girlz went 2 goals up in the 54th minute via Bunny Shaw who placed the ball to the side of the goalkeeper after receiving a pass inside the box while being unmarked.
Shaw scored her second goal in the 82nd minute of the match. The game ended 3-0 to Jamaica at Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Trelawny.
The first match played between the two teams was back in 2019, that match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The next match is set for December 2 at the same stadium.
Jamaica’s all-time leading goalscorer, Khadija “Bunny” Shaw has pushed her record to 57 goals for her country in 43 matches, Shaw was absent from international duty for well over a year after stepping away in early 2023 due to personal reasons.
The Reggae Girlz are ranked 42nd in the world, while the South Africans are ranked 50.
