Charges Delayed against Suspect in Khanice Jackson’s Murder
It was reported that investigators delayed charging the suspect who is in custody for the murder of the 20-year-old young woman Khanice Jackson in Portmore, St. Catherine, even though they had indicated that they had planned to charge him on Monday.
50 year old Mechanic Robert Fowler aka ‘Backra’ was not finished being interrogated today, sources revealed that on Tuesday investigators will continue questioning the suspect.
Fitz Bailey, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of crime, stated that the police are sure that they have the right person as they have secured a significant amount of evidence in the case.
Stephanie Lindsay, the Senior Superintendent, Communication Officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, earlier confirmed that the suspect knew Miss Jackson. There is no need to seek for any other suspect in relation to this case.
According to the mother of Khanice whose name is Eunice Chambers, the suspected killer should pay for his crime and given the maximum sentence possible.
While Jamaica know’s the suspect’s name, his image is yet to be presented to the public. According to a recently released voice note, the suspect saw Khanice on the day she went missing however he denied being the reason for her death.
Khanice’s body was found in bushes off Dyke Road in Portmore, St. Catherine last Friday morning .
Investigators believes she was strangled.
