Chief R. Currie Visits Sister of Victim in Accompong Shooting – Video

The leader of the Maroons in Accompong, Chief R. Currie visited the sister of the man who was killed on Thursday night as they celebrated the 284th anniversary of the signing of the peace treaty with the British.
The man who was shot fatally has been identified as Lloyd Davis, heβs from Bethsalem community in the parish. Davis’s sister who has been emotionally torn by the loss greeted Currie with open arms and wept.
At least 6 persons were shot at the Maroon Festival that was being held in Accompong Village, St Elizabeth.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is currently investigating the matter after it was revealed that a police officer who is a member of the Maroon community was involved in the incident.
