According to former U.S. (United States) president, Donald Trump, he will be arrested sometime in the following week.
While there have been no official statements, Trump’s claim was made via his social media platform, Truth Social, and comes at the same time that a prosecutor in New York contemplates filing charges against Trump in relation to the adult movie actress Stormy Daniels being bribed for her silence.
He said that he found out about the possible arrest because of illegal leaks, and his attorney, Susan Necheles, admonished prosecutors for withholding information from Trump’s counsel, as his assumptions were concluded from media reports.
In a statement, Necheles said, “Since this is a political prosecution, the District Attorney’s office has engaged in a practice of leaking everything to the press, rather than communicating with President Trump’s attorneys as would be done in a normal case.”
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office refused to speak on the situation and although Trump has not disclosed what he thinks he might be charged with, he maintains that he has not committed any crimes.
If indicted, Donald Trump will become the first former president of the U.S. to be put on trial.
