Saturday is lining up to be a very electric day as the third leg of the Diamond League is set to take place in Eugene, Oregon, USA, at the Prefontaine Classic event, and is set to feature some of Jamaica’s most outstanding female sprinters along with some of the world’s best at this time.
The lineup includes Elaine Thompson Herah who recently won a 100-meter race at the JAAA Jubilee series in a time of 10.94 seconds despite the probability of having an injury, Shericka Jackson and Briana Williams who were both a part of the winning female sprint relay team at the Olympics in 2021.
Also set to line up with the Jamaicans are popular female sprinters Marie-Josee Ta Lou from the Ivory Coast, Mujinga Kambundji from Switzerland, Dina Asher-Smith from Great Britain and Sha’Carri Richards who recently ran times of 11.37 and 11.27 seconds at a meet in Duval County.
It was uncertain if Richardson was planning to return to the track since she was consistently withdrawing from events recently, however, it appears that she might be back competing for good.
