Even though Elaine Thompson-Herah secured the championship in Birmingham 60m and recorded a season’s best 7.04 seconds, Poland wasn’t quite the same.
At the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland, Thompson-Herah finished the race second place in the women’s 60m final on Tuesday.
Reportedly, Thompson-Herah had a poor beginning and, despite speeding up, she was unable to beat the world leader, Ewa Swoboda who is a Polish runner that set a meet record of 7.03 seconds.
Coming in third place with a personal best of 7.14 seconds was another Polish runner, Pia Skrzyszowska.
Before this, Thompson-Herah won her heat in 7.15 seconds earlier in the first round. Swoboda, on the other hand, won her heat in 7.06 seconds.
