Elaine Thompson-Herah Stunning 7.08 Victory over 60m

Elaine Thompson-Herah secured her first championship win of 2022 at the World Indoor Tour Gold Meeting in Birmingham on Saturday, February 19. The runner record her season’s best 7.08, even though she started in the trail of Switzerland’s Mujinga Kambundj.

Thompson-Herah saw the goal and accelerated, passing the Swiss who ran a season-best 7.11 for second place. Placing third was Daryll Neita who proves she has improved her skills by setting a lifetime best of 7.13.

With her winning time being 0.01 ahead of Briana Williams, Thompson-Herah is now dubbed as the fastest Jamaican woman over 60m this year.

The track star shared her thoughts on a recent post she made which captured her storming through the field.

“First 60  3 years and a SB 7:08. Feels good to be back,” she wrote on her Instagram post.
