Elaine Thompson-Herah Cruises To Victory And Meet Record In Paris – Video
Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson-Herah has reignited her winning streak after she today sprinted to a 10.72 seconds win to place first at the Paris Diamond League event kept at the Charléty stadium.
Even though the absence of Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce was noticeable as she withdrew following her win at Lausanne, Jamaica still captured first and second place as Shericka Jackson placed second in a time of 10.97 seconds, while Dina-Asher Smith from Great Britain placed third in 11.06 seconds while In fourth place, Jamaican Natasha Morrison finished in a time of 11.09 seconds.
Luckily for Thompson Herah this meet, proved record-breaking for her as well since she also broke the meet record of 10.74 seconds that was set by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the year 2015.
According to Elaine, when she races against the other Jamaican women, it pushes her to even go faster, so Shelly-Ann’s presence was certainly missed.
Many people might have expected Thompson-Herah to have gone close to the record or even break it in this run however, the 10.72 seconds is understandable since she has not taken a break since the Tokyo Olympics and still have been running very fast.
