The Olympic sprint champion revealed that, at one point, she contemplated giving up as her work in training was yielding poor results.

“I cried most mornings. I drove in my car going home I cried because I see that I’m working hard and I’m not getting the result I want, and I was on the verge to give up, honestly,” Thompson-Herah stated.

The athlete, who has been struggling with an Achilles injury for multiple years, added that the longstanding injury continues to affect her. Thompson-Herah disclosed that her entire body shut down after suffering a knee injury and a shin splint.
