After a slow start to her 2023 season, Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah seems to be slowly returning to her record-setting form on the track.
In what was her fastest race since the 2022 World Championships, the sprinter ran a new season-best to win the 100m at the Allianz Memorial Van Damme in Brussels, Belgium, on Friday.
Friday’s meet saw Thompson-Herah better her previous season-best of 10.92 seconds, which she clocked during her first 100m win for the season at the Gala dei Castelli in Bellinzona on September 4.
Facing off against fellow Jamaicans Natasha Morrison and Sashalee Forbes, Thompson-Herah clocked in at 10.84 seconds to secure her win.
Morrison also clocked in at a new season-best to take second place in a time of 10.95 seconds, with Forbes finishing in fifth place in 11.17 seconds.
