Female Killed In Car Explosion In St. Thomas

As reported by the Jamaica Star, an unidentified female passed away on Friday, April 8 after the car in which she was travelling lost control along the Rowlandsfield Main Road in St. Thomas.
According to Corporal S. Hemmings from the Morant Bay Traffic Unit, the car overturned and a fire started shortly after. The woman was trapped inside the vehicle which is a Nissan Tida as it went up in flames, an explosion occurred with the female still inside before she could be rescued.
The fatal accident took place before midday, at about 11 am.
The owner of the car and three other passengers were taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment that is not believed to be life-threatening.
