Footballer Michail Antonio Expressed Desire to Play for Jamaica

The (JFF) Jamaica Football Federation President Michael Ricketts reported that English Premier League player Michail Antonio had declared his desire to play absolutely for the Reggae Boyz.

After a meeting with Michail Antonio the President and his agent were both talking about how Michail expressed an absolute desire to represent Jamaica, the JFF head revealed during a virtual media conference recently.

The 30-year-old who now represents West Ham United. The forward, who was born to Jamaican parents in London, England, had turned down opportunities from the JFF before.

But Antonio has never made an appearance for England squads even though he was invited in the past.

Ricketts confirmed in the media conference that the speedy strong player, Antonio is currently working on obtaining a Jamaican passport.

Antonio even joked about actually starting the process of accessing a [Jamaican] passport, and his wife is asking if she will get her Jamaican passport as well, it was noted that the JFF continues to seek out the possibility of bringing in other overseas-bred high quality players to join the team.

Antonio, has a history of hamstring problems, this has caused him to miss many matches for West Ham this season, but he has scored seven times in 17 Premier League matches when he played.
