According to a report by Nationwide News, the gun that was seized from Jamaican dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta is linked to two killings and also three cases of shooting with intent, the killings reportedly took place in the corporate area.

These findings were reported to Nationwide, by the police after the gun that was allegedly taken from Tommy Lee’s waist was subjected to several ballistics tests, whereby an Integrated Ballistic Identification System was used which is called the  IBIS machine. The IBIS technology provides a single system capable of comparing ballistic evidence found at different crime scenes.

According to the report the gun might have been used to carry out other crimes that they were unable to link at this moment.

Tommy Lee Sparta was recently sentenced to a total of 5 years, with 3 years being for illegal possession of a firearm and two being for illegal ammunition however they will run concurrently hence he is expected to do a max of 3 years given there are no problems along the way.

According to further reports, the Mobay dancehall artiste who is accused of being the Leader of the Spartan gang would have gotten many more years for the gun had he not plead guilty.

One of the deejay’s lawyers Donahue Martin explained that ‘Uncle Demon’ was looking at 10 to 15 years had they not negotiate a deal which may see the artiste out in two years and six months. It was noted that the Criminal Justice (Administration) (Amendment) Act entitles an individual up to a 50 percent cut in the expected sentence if he/she pleads guilty on the first date of the trial.

Martin told the Jamaica Star that Tommy Lee Sparta “has no previous conviction. That allowed him to have a further reduction and in addition to that, he served three months in custody awaiting this date and that also added to a reduction”.

Many dancehall fans are of the opinion that this was a set up by the police who has been after Tommy Lee Sparta for years now.

Investigations of Tommy Lee will continue.
