Steven Gerrard has been fired as Head Coach of Aston Villa Football Club on Thursday, just hours after the team suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
“Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that Head Coach Steven Gerrard has left the club with immediate effect,” a statement released by the Club read.
After 11 Premier League games, Aston Villa has only won 2 and is one spot above the relegation zone.
Gerrard was first appointed in the position in November of last year, replacing Dean Smith, having spent three years with the Scottish club Rangers in his first managerial post.
He now becomes the fourth Premier League manager to be fired this season, following Scott Parker, Thomas Tuchel and Bruno Lage.
