Huge Explosion In Bangladesh Kills Dozens With Hundreds Of Persons Injured

A huge explosion in Bangladesh has claimed the lives of at least 49 people and has been reported to also have left 300 persons injured. The explosion took place close to the city’s storage depot close to the city of Chittagong in Sitakunda.

The group of deceased persons were also noted by BBC which published an article on the incident to have also included service workers who went to the scene of the tragedy to lend their support.

A video was also taken of the scene before the explosion which appeared based on what BBC showed to have been in flames before the bang went off, killing those who were close enough to get the full impact and injuring others in the vicinity.

According to Mohammed Manzurul Islam, from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, bodies are still being found of persons who are fighting critically for life which includes 40 firefighters and 10 Police. He also mentioned that the direct cause of the explosion is not known however he reported that it is thought that the catalyst of the incident was based on chemicals that were being stored in some containers in the area.

While the search for the explosion site continues it is expected that the dead body count will increase.
