Following the release of photos of him receiving treatment at a hospital, Dancehall artiste Jahshii has revealed that he recently had surgery.
Concern that Jahshii might be suffering from an illness was first sparked after the Born Fighter deejay shared a photograph on social media of him being treated with a closed wound drainage system. Fans’ concerns were further heightened after he revealed that he was in a motor vehicle accident.
While Jahshii has not divulged if he was injured during the car crash, the artiste revealed during an interview on OnStage that he recently underwent surgery. Speaking with veteran entertainment journalist Winford Williams, Jahshii shared that he is currently in recovery but that the surgery was completed successfully, and he extended thanks to his surgeon as well as his fans for their support.
The surgery came on the heels of his brother’s murder and recent burial and followed an apparent attack on the artiste’s life earlier this year. Speaking on the struggles he and his family have faced throughout 2023, Jahshii said he has been trying to maintain his strength to be there for his family.
Sharing that he has been spending more time with his family, Jahshii expressed that the difficulties of the past year have affected him more than his family, as he has to watch them go through it. The deejay disclosed that his family still has concerns, and also mentioned that the past year has affected his music career in many ways.
Despite his recent setbacks, including his absence from the music scene due to personal issues, Jahshii is looking forward to returning to the stage. The entertainer is slated to perform on December 6, 2023, at the 8th annual Welcome to Jamrock Reggae Cruise. The cruise is scheduled to take place from December 4 through 9, and Jahshii expressed his excitement for being able to perform alongside the reggae and Dancehall greats featured on the lineup.
