Jamaica Defeats Mexico 1-0 In The Women’s Championship… Watch Match Highlights

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw kicked Jamaica closer to the World Cup qualification in Monterrey, Mexico, where the CONCACAF Women’s Championship took place and Jamaica defeated Mexico 1-0.

The all-time top scorer made the grand winner in the 8th minute from a free-kick from Deneisha Blackwood as the Reggae Girls aim to qualify for the 2023 World Cup, which will be in Australia.

World Cup champions USA is at the top of the four-team group, as the USA had defeated Haiti 3-0 in the curtain-raiser. Jamaica will also go up against Haiti in their final group match.

Both USA and Jamaica are currently on three points with Jamaica second on goal difference, while Mexico and Haiti have not scored a point.

The formation Jamaica’s coach Lorne Donaldson started with was 4-3-3, in which Shaw, Jody Brown, and Atlanta Primus were upfront. Starting in midfield were Drew Spence, Havana Solaun and Paige Bailey-Gayle all of whom shielded the back line.

In goal was Rebecca Spencer while the strong and undefeated defence line consisted of Chantelle Swaby, Allyson Swaby, Deneisha Blackwood and Tiernny Wiltshire.
