Jamaica Suffers 9th Straight Defeat In Copa America

The Reggae Boyz played their 3rd and final match of the 2024 Copa America tournament on Sunday in Texas, the match ended 3-1 in favour of Venezuela.
With the fact that both nations are ranked closely in the world FIFA rankings, the first 25 minutes of the match was even for the most part with both teams creating chances but none clear-cut.
The first half ended without either team being able to score a goal.
Kaheim Dixon was brought on and Renaldo Cephas was taken off at the start of the second half. However, Venezuela started the second half on the front foot, scoring in the 49th minute, just 4 minutes after the restart.
Venezuela dominated the match onwards and went in to score their second goal of the night in the 56th minute. They went on to secure the win in the 85ft minute, handing the Reggae Boyz their 9th straight defeat of Copa America.
Based on FIFA, Jamaica is currently ranked 53rd in the world while Venezuela is ranked 54th.
Main positive from the 2024 tournament for Jamaica is that they scored a goal, something the Boyz were unable to do in the previous two Copa tournaments they entered.
With this 3-0 defeat, Jamaica finishes Group B at the end of the table with 0 points.
